With Love From A Repeat Trip

I make a habit of returning to destinations I love.  I often try to return within the next year or two.  An initial visit to any beloved spot is really to feel it out and get a lay of the land - a sense of the pockets you enjoy spending time and the “don’t waste your time’s” as we Dipas call them.  There is a magic in returning to a place.  Everyone is movin’ and groovin’ so fast these days that it is rare to go right on back to a place you just visited. Yeah, people return to vacation spots year after year, but I am talking more about adventurous destinations that are often viewed as one and done, see it and move on. I am not over here trying to see as many places as possible in this big world. I would rather explore fewer, more deeply. For me, places start to creep up on my radar and I slowly start to tune in and cultivate knowledge about a place from afar and then every time I travel there, it seeps deeper into my own DNA.  On my recent trip to the Faroe Islands, I got a kick out of all the adventurous travelers wanting to get to the most remote corners of the most remote islands. The Faroe Islands as a whole are remote and relatively untraveled as is, chill! People have gotten so driven to find the most unique experiences that it can be nothing short of exhausting. Look around and enjoy the places that may be right under your nose and shockingly beautiful. Don’t always assuming there is more, better, further. When you do find places you love – VISIT OFTEN.
