Feels like the movie set of your dream Icelandic farm - except it’s all very real.

The farm sits on the Northern edge of the Highlands so it’s a stopover for many of the realest local guides who spend time in the Highlands. The food and culture cater to that crowd - hearty, no frills, so good.

They are not begging you to find them at Fjalladyrd, but if you do, they are happy to have you.

Stay in the hotel or family bungalows, both Nordic style, clean and cozy. There are also dorm style accommodations in a separate building where the guides stay, I would personally avoid those. There’s also an area for campers.

Bunnies, arctic baby foxes and sweet farm dogs flutter about.

Your road trip around Iceland. A must-stop that is not on most lists of those driving Ring Road. It sits in the Northeast of Iceland between Myvatn and Egilsstadir.
